Professional profile

Rodolfo Loría is the founding partner of R. Loría Abogados and has practiced law in Costa Rica since 1984. His practice centers on real estate, corporate, tax and immigration law, serving primarily mid-sized companies and individual investors from the United States, Canada and Europe with operations, property or interests in the country. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, he works with clients directly in either language.

Over the course of his career he has handled complex real estate transactions, including title transfers, due diligence reviews, condominium and maritime-terrestrial zone (ZMT) matters, and possession disputes. He also advises companies on their corporate structure and tax planning, and helps foreign clients align their immigration status with their investments in Costa Rica.

A certified mediator and conciliator, he handles alternative dispute resolution processes directly and approaches contentious matters with a negotiator’s mindset where circumstances allow.

His clients consistently point to his reliability in meeting every commitment, his four decades of accumulated experience, and the professional ethics he brings to each case.
